Payment & Billing Policy
Payment & Billing Policy
1. Introduction
This Payment & Billing Policy describes how a Client's payment to Glancers for a Service, and Glancers' compensation obligation to the Freelancer who performs it, are recorded and processed on the Glancers platform, consistent with Section 2 of the Terms and Conditions (the Client contracts with Glancers; Glancers separately engages the Freelancer). It works together with the Fees & Commission Policy, Payment Commitment Policy, Refund & Chargeback Policy, and Freelancer Payout Policy.
2. Payment Methods
2.1 Accepted Payment Methods
The Platform accepts the payment methods displayed at checkout, which may include credit and debit cards, supported mobile wallets, and bank transfers for eligible corporate accounts.
2.2 Payment Security
A Client's payment to Glancers is processed through Glancers' third-party payment service providers. The Platform does not store sensitive card information itself. Glancers' payment service providers are, in their own capacity, subject to applicable card-industry security standards and other regulatory obligations that apply to them as payment service providers; this Policy does not itself certify or guarantee a specific provider's compliance.
2.3 Currency
Transactions on the Platform are processed in Egyptian Pounds (EGP). If a User's payment method or payout method requires currency conversion, the applicable exchange rate is determined by the relevant bank or payment service provider, and a conversion charge may apply. The Platform is not responsible for currency fluctuations between the time a milestone is paid and the time a Freelancer payout occurs.
3. Billing Process
3.1 Activating a Milestone
A Client activates a milestone by paying Glancers the milestone amount or the applicable project amount at checkout. Once that payment is confirmed, the milestone is recorded as paid in Glancers' internal records, and the payment is processed through the Platform's payment service providers. Before work begins, the Client must have paid Glancers the applicable milestone or project amount.
3.2 When Freelancer Compensation Becomes Payable
Once a milestone is paid by the Client, the corresponding Freelancer compensation becomes payable upon the Client's approval of delivered work, automatic approval at the end of the review window described in Section 12 of the Project Lifecycle Policy, or a Platform Dispute Review outcome under the Dispute Resolution Policy. If a dispute is raised, the corresponding Freelancer compensation does not become payable until the dispute is resolved. Glancers' obligation to pay the Freelancer is a separate commercial obligation of Glancers, distinct from the Client's payment to Glancers described in Section 3.1, and this Policy describes Glancers' internal accounting treatment of that obligation. It does not represent that Glancers holds money belonging to the Client or the Freelancer in a custodial or fund-holding arrangement.
3.3 Service Fees
Fees applicable to a Client and to a Freelancer are set out exclusively in the Fees & Commission Policy: a Client Service Fee of 7% of the paid milestone value, and a Freelancer Service Commission of 10% deducted from the compensation payable to the Freelancer. Fees are calculated on the transaction value described in the Fees & Commission Policy.
3.4 Taxes & VAT Compliance
Applicable taxes, including VAT where required, may be charged based on jurisdiction. Where the Platform is legally required to collect VAT, it is added to the transaction and remitted to the relevant tax authority. A User remains responsible for their own tax reporting obligations.
4. Invoicing
4.1 Automated Invoice Generation
The Platform automatically generates a payment receipt for the Client upon payment (a non-tax document) and a final invoice for the Client's purchase upon milestone completion, where applicable. Glancers separately generates a compensation statement reflecting an amount payable to a Freelancer once that amount becomes payable.
4.2 Invoice Details
An invoice to the Client includes Platform information, Client details, a description of the Service purchased, and applicable fees and taxes. A Freelancer's compensation statement includes Platform information, a description of the Service performed, and the applicable Freelancer Service Commission.
4.3 Corporate Invoicing
A business Client may request a structured invoice compatible with accounting or ERP systems, subject to availability.
5. Failed Payments
5.1 Payment Failure Notifications
If a Client's payment fails, the Client is notified, and the transaction is not processed.
5.2 Project Suspension
If a Client's payment fails, work must not begin or continue, and the Platform may suspend project activity until payment is successful.
5.3 Chargebacks & Payment Disputes
A Client may dispute a transaction with their bank, card issuer, or payment provider. How Glancers treats a chargeback depends on its category, as described in Section 4.2 of the Refund & Chargeback Policy: a chargeback for unauthorized use, or the exercise of a lawful non-waivable right, is not treated as a breach; a chargeback raised instead of the Platform's dispute process is not automatically treated as a breach, although Clients are encouraged to use that process first where reasonably possible; and only a chargeback found after review to be fraudulent or abusive may lead to the consequences described in Section 4.5 of that Policy. Any temporary restriction pending review, and any recovery of amounts or costs, is handled in accordance with Sections 4.3 and 4.4 of the Refund & Chargeback Policy.
6. Fraud Prevention
The Platform may monitor transactions using automated and human review, flag suspicious payment activity, and temporarily delay a transaction for review, in accordance with the Fraud Prevention Policy. An automated flag may trigger a temporary precautionary restriction on transaction processing pending human review; an irreversible adverse financial action is not taken on the basis of an automated flag alone.
7. Finality of Payments
Once a Client's payment is successfully processed and the corresponding Freelancer compensation has become payable and been paid out in accordance with this Policy, the transaction is considered final, and Platform Service Fees associated with that transaction are treated as described in the Fees & Commission Policy. Refunds are governed by the Refund & Chargeback Policy and the Project Cancellation Policy.
8. Effective Date
This policy is effective upon publication and subject to updates at the Platform's discretion, consistent with Section 15.1 of the Terms and Conditions.
